Goldenstream Limited is a family owned and operated Christchurch based company specialising in concrete construction in the residential, commercial and civil space.
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our young enthusiastic team, you will need
proven experience with working on New Zealand projects.
Key Responsibilities:


Relationship Management:  day to day coordination and communication with customers


Project Analysis:  Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements and scope.


Material Take-off: Quantify materials needed for each project, including aluminium profiles, glass panels, hardware, and accessories. Utilise industry standards and best practices to ensure accurate material estimates.


Cost Estimation: Calculate project costs based on material quantities, labour requirements, equipment expenses, and overhead costs. Consider factors such as labour rates, material prices, subcontractor bids, and project timelines.


Vendor and Supplier Management: Obtain pricing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, labour, and services. Where required, negotiate favourable terms and discounts to optimize project profitability.


Quote Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive quotes for prospective clients, including itemized cost breakdowns, project schedules, and terms and conditions. Present quotes to clients and address any inquiries or revisions as needed.


Value Engineering: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering solutions without compromising quality or functionality.


Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with each project, such as material price fluctuations, labour shortages, or project delays. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success.


Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bid documents, and correspondence with clients and suppliers. Generate reports to track estimating activities, project wins, and profitability metrics.
