Do I have to Apply COA for walking in shower for selling a house

Plan to see a house but the agent said our walking-in shower needs to apply COA which would cost approx $5000. Anyone working in the council could give some suggestions this? thanks

Do you really think "anyone working in the Council" can give you a right answer? How about someone  working in Council's accounting/ IT team - do you think they can tell you want you need to know about a COA?

You may not be even entitled to apply for a COA if you cannot prove your shower was built after the Building Act was enacted in 1992, in this situation, you can only get someone to do a Safe and Sanitary Report and put it in your property file.

Thank you 陌生的香港人 for your reply! I did check this regulation first. The work was carried out by a proper contractor from trademe in a couple years ago, so it is within the time window of eligibility of CoA. When I started this, I was not aware of applying this otherwise, I would not opt to walking in shower. However, the cost put me off and wondering if it is worth to do it. Or anyway to get the cost lower.
