[color=var(--theme-headings-color)]Mandatory recordkeeping at busy places and events
[color=var(--color-black)]On 22 August, the Government announced that mandatory recordingkeeping will become a requirement for people aged 12 and over at all Alert Levels for busy places and events. This is so contact tracing can happen quickly and may help prevent Alert Level changes. This requirement will come into effect 7 days after the next Alert Level change. This will provide businesses and other locations time to ensure they have record keeping systems and processes in place. [color=var(--color-black)]This requirement is for both individuals (to make a record) and businesses/locations (to keep a record). You can do this by scanning the QR code on the COVID-19 Tracer App or by keeping and manual record of the places visited. [color=var(--color-black)]This requirement applies to: - Visitors to aged care and healthcare facilities
- Cinemas, theatres, casinos and concerts
- Customers at massage parlours, beauticians, barbers, hairdressers and exercise facilities
- Customers at cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs
- Indoor public facilities, such as libraries, museums, swimming pools
- Social gatherings including those at marae, weddings, funerals, tangihanga and faith-based services
- Visitors to courts and tribunals, local and central government agencies, and social services providers with customer service counters such as councils, Ministry of Social Developments offices
