hi , hope that you don't mind me writing the question in English, it is just because i am very slow at typing chinese, sorry about this.
My husband and i have just set up a business trust through a lawyer, and now we need to set up another company and put it under the trust as well. The lawyer said if just simply adding the second company into the trust, then it is free of charge, but if we need them to set up the company and add it into the trust, it will cost us around $800. So i am wondering if it is possible or simple enough for ourself to set up this second company in your opinion, or should we better to let the lawyer to handle the whole thing.

In regards to the setting up of a company, there is no special requirement for transferring a company into a trust other than setting up the company and having trustees of your family trust holding shares on behalf of the trust. Legally this is no different than setting up any companies for trading purpose.

However, you do have to be mindful that any dividend declared on behalf of the company needs to be made to the trustees or their trust bank account, not to you or your husband in person in order to separate yourself from the Family Trust. In addition, the gifting requirement also needs to be taken care of for any loans made to the establishment of the company.
