First of all, thanx ComputerLounge for the great deal :D
sold my i7 920 set for this, coz i'm no longer into pc games (at least till Diablo3), gonna stick with onboard video for a while.
since NZ's power bill is high, i usually do is low volt oc (not too over cpu vid), thus need to find a balance between performance vs power consume.
also i got the silverstone penetrator 18cm fan today, it's way to huge to settle in any location on my bench table.....so yeh.
i was putting it like this, but i found it won't push enough air thru the second heatsink wall.
then i found this works better, even 1/3 the fan isn't blowing anything ..lol , so i strongly suggest if u are getting this, please wait for the 14cm model (the 12cm model is crap too)
gears.
CPU: AMD 1055t (locked multi, max 14, turbo@16)
MB: Asus M4A89GTD Pro (no usb3.0 version)
RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600 2gx2 CL8
PSU: ACBEL R8 800
HDD: Intel X25-V 40G + Samsung F3 Raid0
VGA: onboard @ 900 with 1.225v NB volt.
*please do note if your Samsung F3 won't work on SB850 board, go update the firmware from Samsung it will fix the problem.
*in this test i won't be recording any temp, since hex core's temp are screwed....ambient temp 23c, and my cores are like 16c~17c idle =_=" that's just not right will upate the temps once asus release newer bios to fix this
BIOS settings
257x14 @ 3.6G (turbo off)
CPU volt @ 1.35v under bios (with lastest bios please enable the volt drop setting, setting at "auto" might be unstable)
HT Link @ 2321
CPU/NB volt @ 1.1375v
RAM @ DDR1720 9-9-9-24 1t unganged
RAM volt @ 1.5v
here's my simple test for stability HyperPI 32mb x6
some cinebench tests
might do some x264 tests later, since that's the main reason that i shift from i7, coz amd hex can actually compete with i7 in x264 encoding.
with i7 low volt oc with ATI 4770 undervolt i was at 120watts IDLE / 200watts LOAD
now with this setting i'm at 95watts IDLE / 177watts under hyperPI LOAD
pretty sweet rig i say, did a rough 4g test for cinebench and it was at 1.485v...will do some stability test later :0

原来AMD CPU也可以很强大,等x264评测。不过我x264 DVD 2pass 从Rip 加上 声轨压缩,双核也就2-3 小时,偶尔压压也可以了,值得想想的就蓝光压缩了。
