Logistics, Shipping and Air Freight

The New Zealand Maritime School is committed to providing quality short courses for the logistics shipping, air freight, freight forwarding and import/export industries throughout New Zealand.

Unscheduled Courses

In addition to the scheduled courses listed, the following courses will be offered, subject to there being sufficient demand:

Chartering Practice
The seminar will provide participants with the tools to become involved in the practice of chartering.

Port Agency
The seminar will establish an understanding of the relationship between “Agent” and “Principal” and review examples of financial reporting.

Health and Safety for the Transport Industry
The seminar will cover the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees in the transport industry sectors. Hazard identification and associated management is covered, and related legislation reviewed.

Ship Planning and Stability – Transverse and Longitudinal
The seminar will explore the physical constraints that govern the load planning of a vessel. It will benefit those who are interested or involved in the chartering, managing or load planning of vessels.

Port Management
The seminar will provide participants with detailed understanding of the planning and management of ports and associated infrastructure.
