This Australia government website has been out of service for 40 hours. This means the workers were not competent enough and maintaining website is not easy job. It is worldwide issue lack of senior software engineer. Facebook has to go to Africa to get software engineer. They cannot find enough in USA. :-)

Please don't say develop website easy. Can you do the website best in the world? :-)
And I heard that india company will quote hourly rate very low and charge you four times the amount of time for the work :-)

I will imagine that hair cut is far easier than IT. I think nowadays everyone just want quick cash and want to be instant millionaire. (Of course, if you have a mortgage free house in north shore, auckland, you already is a millionaire :-) ) People spent their whole life improve their skill in Germany and Japan.
I think that I will continue to write software for next 50 years until I cannot sit in front of the computer anymore. :-) I guess that at such time, I should employ myself as no one else will hire someone at age 60+

I understand that everyone will say anything great about themselves and deny anything disadvantage to them. Me included :-) If work experience less than 20 years, of course that you will say 10 years is the same as 20 years. If only have 5 years, I will imagine that someone will say 5 years working experience is good enough :-) Some will say working experience does not matter if they never start writing a single line of code. :-) They will say idea is most important thing. :-)

新西兰政府在IT上的确很肯舍得花钱，这是NZ码农的福音。不过，现在远程工作越来越成熟，你也很难100%地说印度人在做网站方面就不如你。这就是为什么新西兰IT工资上不去（其实是在下降）的原因。

If what you are saying is true, we won't see auckland city council and nz immigration and apple website crashed due to high volume visit. I am sure apple can outsource their website to india if they want to. The reason I mentioned these three websites is because I was using the websites. The sample you are talking about I guess that is usa company paying usa rates to a people living in nz which mightbe usa market rate.
In the end, we worker should push our salary up.

Usa is in disaster state claim by usa president candidates. Why do I need to live in usa according to Donald Trump? Most people cannot afford to medical insurance and can be shot on the street by police and no job available again claimed by Donald Trump. The economy is in disaster again claimed by Donald Trump.

每个人能爬到某一个位置都有自己的能力。。。

如果你永远只会moaning而忘却去看别人的能力 那你只能原地踏步。。。

眼界决定自己的高度。。。

别一天到晚觉得谁都不如自己 别人拿到高薪水是好运。。。

这世界没那么多好运 只有脚踏实地努力去做。。。

还有别说自己开发的程序如何如何 老板如何赏识。。。

如果真那么赏识就给你加工资到你愿意的价位。。。

正如这里华人雇主 他们经常给最低工资 却给很高的title。。。

其实你现在也是那样而已。。。

PS 那个20万年薪的 别人也是写程序 不过是写给机器的。。。

而那些机器主要是给美国 欧洲的。。。

If you are saying high salary can compare the person's contribution to our society. What about our mp and usa's member of Parliament and the people in wall street? They got high salary for sure. Are they "牛" to us? What have they done to our house's and economy issue? We have to pay 10 to 40 years take home income to buy a house to live in our city. I think the people in wall street is disease to the society and they don't do anything good to the world and get a lot. But because I want to be "牛", so I want to write quantity analysis software to join them. I feel guilty about that. But it is ok for me. Google says they don't do evil, but they keep all peoples's internet browsing record and making money from that. :-)
The answer is simple. Income is nothing to do with  "牛". Some people with great skill contribute great to our society and receive little. I guess that you don't need me to give you about such examples. Just look around the people working in supermarket, cleaning the toilets etc. We need them. We don't need high income wall street people.

I think everyone is "牛" in some degree.
I don't have any problem about job seeking about high income. I am just not sending cv to employer for last four years. That is it.

感觉10万以上的工作已经不是由工龄来决定的。人家要求工龄的无非就是6万8万的工作。更往上还要看你的管理能力，人际资源吧。我猜的

My job is to develop desktop/mobile websites and write android/ios mobile app. It is the same as usa or china. If the website face something serious, my boss will call me to fix it no matter if it is working hours or not without extra pay and leave shift. I have done multiple times work till 11pm in the past to fix issues i.e. someone try to crawl the website and steal all catalog information and setup a clone website. We are selling catalog information to make a living. The catalog belongs to my boss and the customer who are using us. And I have to defend it.

it is a very simple reason for you mate. you are in NZ and could not compare here with USA economic ratio.

美国其他地方呢，基本上lifestyle好的地方工资不高，工资高的lifestyle差，自由市场总是很快会达到一个平衡的，哈哈
