Vodafone is offering four handsets with 4G capability: the Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC 8x. The iPad Retina and iPad mini are also 4G capable. Other devices coming later this year include the BlackBerry z10, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One SV, and Noka Lumia 820.
Customers with a 4G capable device will need to download an update for their handsets to use 4G. Vodafone will be contacting anyone with an eligible device on an eligible plan today, to let them know that they can perform a firmware/software update to enable 4G.
Vodafone says that prepaid customers do not have access to 4G yet, but customers on a $30 SIM-only plan can pay $10 to upgrade that plan to 4G. New 4G plans are available from $120 per month. |
