new decision-making principles, criteria and guidance.

3 F [3 \7 H- N) m1 H. o+ ebe used wherever a time and season dog access rule is used on a beach. The decision was to
! h4 \$ `6 L2 c/ [/ A4 N% Y: d4 madopt a standard summer beach time and season of 10am and 5pm, Labour Weekend to 1 March,) I, `4 A$ U* {, w; C, V, G6 t
and to exempt its application on Hauraki Gulf islands (including Waiheke Island and Great Barrier
V6 K6 g5 G% HIsland)./ H3 _4 k1 R+ f7 _
However, the new standard summer time and season will not be in effect until the forum and! L: c3 I+ _2 u0 U/ Y
local boards have reviewed all beach dog access rules in each area. The review will identify the
& d# Y! t7 [/ T2 y9 t$ Omost appropriate mix of dog access rules for our beaches. This might mean that the new summer
! j( b N9 i& V; V; J8 Utimes and season will apply to some beaches, while for other beaches dogs may be allowed under
3 t4 r& K1 q/ Qcontrol off a leash at all times. The need to carry out this review and work out the best way to! h: n9 f* l: Z; s( j4 W
manage the safe interaction between people and dogs means that until those decisions are made
