大概三周前,Adam说 accounting fair 结束后可以来我公司 meeting,不过我实在是没时间,所以就email给他问了他几个问题,
比如:NZICA vs. CPA;
海外ATO经验的认可;
Hi xxxx
Hopefully our chat this afternoon covered all your questions.
I forgot to mention that another example of NZICA being a global professional body is that our 2009 CA of the year (Warwick Hunt) is based in Dubai and is the CEO of the Middle East region of PwC.
A recap on NZICA’s key competences:
1. Professional accounting body of choice in NZ for over 100 years.
2. Almost all organisations in NZ insist on NZICA membership – not CPA.
3. NZICA is a member of the GAA (Global Accounting Alliance).
4. Around a quarter of our 32,000 members are based in 91 different countries where their CA designation is recognised.
5. On average NZICA members earn twice as much as CPA’s (verification is available on NZICA and CPA websites).
6. Any organisation in any country can apply to become an ATO. Please refer to the below email for further information on organisations becoming ATO’s.
You also asked about another GAA member, CPA America, which is a totally different organisation from CPA Australia who is not part of the GAA.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further queries.
Cheers
Adam

As part of the Institute’s requirement’s Chartered Accountant trainees must complete two years of specified practical experience in an Approved Training Organisation (ATO), under the guidance of an Institute registered mentor, within a period of four years.
Any organisation in any country can apply to become an ATO. In order to be approved an organisation must be able to identify:
- An ATO Coordinator. Please note trainees may not take responsibility for the application or for managing the ATO programme in an organisation. It is recommended that a employee in a senior position within the organisation who has some knowledge about the organisations ATO status would act as the ATO Coordinator. An example of a suitable person would be a Human Resources Manager, Finance Manager or a Director of the company.
- An Institute registered mentor. Members of IFAC affiliated bodies can apply to the Insitute for Registered mentor status based on their membership of an IFAC affiliated body. For details of IFAC affiliated bodies please refer to the following link:
http://web.ifac.org/about/member-bodies
- At least three areas of accounting (two at a level two and one at a level three) trainees can undertake training in, as outlined in the Chartered Accountants and Associate Chartered Accountants training log, avaliable on the institutes website, www.nzica.com
Once a student completes study in New Zealand they can complete there specified practical experience in another country, for example China. However, it is vital that the student confirms that the organisation they work for e.g PWC is an ATO registered with the Institute priror to commencing specified practical experience. You should be aware that PAS/PCE2 is currently only offered in New Zealand so the student would need to return to NZ for this. Some students will complete two years of specified practical experience overseas then return to NZ to complete PAS/PCE2 and others will complete one year of specified practical experience and return to NZ throughout the second year to participate in PAS/PCE2.
An ATO’s status is specific to the branches and physical locations outlined in the application If an ATO wishes to include another location or subsidiary, that is different to those indicated in the application, after approval the ATO Co Coordinator would be required to contact the institute requesting the current ATO status is extended to include the additional location(s) or subsidiary (ies).
For information relating to applying for ATO status please refer to the following link on the Institutes website:
