city 篇
New Zealand follows general Commonwealth useage in only describing conurbations that are the seat of a bishop as "cities".
It's the country that's magnificent in New Zealand and we only list nine of the most prominent settlements. Here they are from north to south:
North Island:
- Auckland — "The City of Sails." The largest and most populated conurbation, with over a million in the metropolitan area, making it the largest in Polynesia by far.
- Tauranga - Known for its great weather, sun and beach Tauranga is a great holiday spot.
- Rotorua — Famous for Maori culture, geysers, hot pools and that funny (Sulphur Dioxide) rotten egg smell.
- Wellington — the national capital — Parliament and the Beehive and the wonderful, free Te Papa museum. "The Windy City".
South Island:
- Nelson — Safe and friendly, with New Zealand's highest sunshine hours. Nelson is the geographic centre of the country and surrounded by THREE stunning national parks, vineyards and orchards
- Christchurch — The Garden City and the Air Gateway to Antarctica.
- Queenstown — Adrenalin and adventure capital of the world… skydive, Bungy jump, jet-boat, thrill yourself to your hearts content.
- Dunedin — the Edinburgh of the South. Proud of its Scots heritage, chocolate factory, Southern Albatross colony and its wonderful tramping tracks within a short drive from the CDB.
- Invercargill — the southernmost city and one of the very few places to see a living Tuatara

1. Bay of Islands Tours
a stunning region of 144 secluded island, abundant in natural wonders and marine life, steeped in Maori history,
it maybe takes 3-4 hours in driving, locate in the north of Auckland.
2.Rotorua
interesting places include Glowworm Caves, Zorb, Kuirau Park, Government Gardens, Rotorua Museum, Jade Factory, Maori Village, Polynesina spa,
It is surrounded by volcanoes, lakes, parks and recreational areas, and is a great place to go hiking or to view native birds and animals
3. Pakiri beach horse riding
the beach is not far away from Auckland in northland, i have not tried riding before, really afaid of horse riding!!
4. Akaroa Walk

More than 28 historic structures and features, some dating back to the 19th century, include a school, church, sponge warehouse, railroad depot and store as well as a variety of historic homes.
6. Royal Oak shopping mall
this one is familiar to us , it is in Manukau Road, a nice place which supply a lot of goods and services . ;)
7. Skyk Tower
experience the thrill of sky tower , marvel at breathing 360 views over Auckland city stand on the glass floor panels and look straight down to the street below. watch a film on the history of Auckland and building of SKy tower, have a coffee of 2 lounge, or eat at one of 2 excelllent restaurants

8. Taranki
Taranaki is situated on the west coast of the North Island, surrounding the volcanic peak. The large bays north-west and south-west of Cape Egmont are prosaically named the North Taranaki Bight and the South Taranaki Bight.
Mt Taranaki : 2518 m of stunning geological beauty and history - is not only renowned for its beauty but also for its ever-changing weather conditions, it is one of the world's most accessible mountains, but its lure for visitors who view its clear-cut sides as easy pickings often leads to tragedy.
AND hollard gardens also is a sweet place to go~~

9 Devonport is a seaside suburb

The Devonport shops contain a fair array of antique & gift shops as well a number of good cafes and restaurants making it a popular destination for tourists and Aucklanders. People often travel over from Auckland on the ferry for dinner, the starry sky and glittering lights of Auckland on the return trip being very beautiful. Day trips combining a meal in Devonport with a trip up Mt Victoria or an exploration of the military emplacements on nearby North Head are also very popular.
Devonport is also noted for the popular annual event, the Devonport Food & Wine Festival
