大家分享一下找工作的经验和你遇到过的interview 的经历,以及公司的待遇问题吧!

先说说我的,在这之前interview 了一些公司。第一次正式的interview 是 e&y,大家可能不知道big4 accouting firm 是要IT Graduate的,而且每年的人数都在增长,因为现在很多大的公司都有很大system,所以需要一些人来做information system auditing.我个人感觉这对 IS 毕业的人来说是个机会, 当然除了big4 以外一些本地的和审计相关的大一点的公司也要IT的人的。(希望有人可以补充)。我想大家可能觉得有的时候申请这样的公司可能进取得希望不大,不过我感觉去了e&y assessement day ,你基本上把在 nz 所有的interview 的种类都见到了。 partner interview ,group assessment , psychometric testing.而且会给你信心,你将来在去interview 的话就会更加从容。interview 的内容和网上介绍的都差不多,不过好像他们会问你,你最近有没有在报纸上看到一些商业信息,这些信息是什莫,你对他又什莫样的看法?我interview的时候有,去年朋友 interview 的时候也有。那个group assessement 很麻烦,你们一组人要一起完成一个项目,我们当时是看一个用一种古代文字写的instruction。每个人会份到2-3张卡片,上面写着每个词的意思或者一些条件。你不能让任何人看到你的卡片,只能用verbal communication 去告诉大家。大家在一起又要竞争,又要合作在规定的时间内完成这个问题。一些hr 得人会坐在旁边给每个人大分。我感觉引入这个人很聪明,不过就苦了我们留学生,语言问题真的是。。。唉!不过我感觉interview  完了以后感觉很好,超级喜欢从哪个写子楼上看海景。不过最后人家没要我。 (希望有去过big4 或者类似的公司的人补充

明年自己要去工作的地方,可能自己找到的工作都觉得好.要是通过他们的graduate programme进去的话第一周会去wellington 的 head office 玩四天.应该是boot camp吧.还没去过很期待的说.

那到是,记得在herald上看到过,说50%的IT公司都在auckland.不过我认识的好多在Wellington ,而且Wellington感觉普遍挣的也多.

Hewlett Packard (HP) invites university students to apply for three 2008 Summer Studentships, worth approximately $5000 each. The aim of the studentships is to encourage high achieving students to extend their research knowledge and/or development experience. HP is a world-leading solutions provider. Such an opportunity will enable the selected students to gain valuable experience while working on leading-edge HP innovations alongside the company’s talented researchers, developers and business managers. At the end of the studentships, the students will have developed relationships with key HP personnel, experienced life as an HP employee and gained knowledge of HP systems and technologies.


The following Summer Studentship projects are available:


Positions One, Two and Three – National Identity System Development
The National Identity System (NIS) is Hewlett Packard’s answer to the growing requirements for secure and trustworthy credentialing. There are several key developments required as part of the system to further enhance a flexible framework capable of meeting the demands of enterprise customers. The NIS enrolment client supports many device types from fingerprint scanners, signature capture, facial imaging capture, biometric quality assessments, document capture and card readers. The need to support these devices is one of the key features of the system.

Position One
This role requires an individual to research the current state of knowledge (globally) with respect to the usability, accessibility and acceptability of biometric identification systems. Activities will include:

Definition of a research plan to tackle this subject
Conducting the research
Preparing a report on findings
Delivering a presentation of key findings and implications for HP's national identity solutions
Identifying next steps for designing the user experience of national identity systems
This role could be used as the foundation for a Masters or Doctoral Research project in the user experience design field. Ideal candidates will be from a human science discipline such as Psychology, User Experience Design, Anthropology or Ergonomics.

Position Two
The role will comprise of working within the global NIS team and will focus on:

Implementation of new devices and new technologies
Building on the NIS provider plug-in model using hardware specific software development kits
Development using C#.NET wrapper
Testing the devices to ensure compatibility with the system and adding new functionality to the existing device plug-ins.
The role will provide exposure to best-in-class implementation of a credentialing solution and will enable the candidate to interact with a global team focused on the development of NIS. Candidates will ideally have a background in security, computer science, or management information systems.

Position Three
This position will focus on the development of a pre-enrolment website. The role will therefore involve:

Development using .NET and AJAX
Integration and creation of mashups using Virtual Earth
Interface realisation using Microsoft Silverlight
Integration with third party web services
The role will provide exposure to best in class implementation of a credentialing solution, and will enable the candidate to interact with a global team focused on the development of NIS. Candidates will ideally have a background in user experience design, computer science, management information systems or engineering.

Roles & projects may be subject to change.

Studentship value Approximately $5000

Eligibility

Applicants must be university students
• Bachelor of Science students who are majoring in Computer Science and enrolled in their final year of study, their Honours Year or about to begin a Master’s degree.
• Bachelor of Commerce students who are undertaking a significant proportion of Information Systems or Computer Science courses and are in their final year of study or Honours Year.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) students who are in Third Professional Year of study.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on a reference from an applicant’s supervisor/lecturer and one A4 page typed statement about why the applicant would like to be selected for an HP Summer Studentship and how their previous experience or interests relate to their chosen project(s). The selection committee may also take into account the applicant’s academic transcript.


Submission of Applications
Applicants are required to deliver the following documents to Kim Egan, Hewlett Packard, (Kim.Egan@hp.com) by 5pm, 28th November 2007:
• A reference from a supervisor or lecturer from your department
• A one A4 page typed statement about how their experience or interests relate to the chosen studentship project(s)
• Current academic transcript
• Current Curriculum Vitae

Please also supply full names, postal address, email address, telephone number, year of study and student number.

Timeline
Submission deadline: 28th November 2007
Interviews will be arranged shortly thereafter with an expected studentship commencement for the first week of December.

Terms
• HP reserves the right to not award some or all of the studentships if a suitable candidate is not found.
• HP will interview short listed applicants.
• Successful applicants will be employed by HP as contractors over the summer break for approximately 10 weeks.
• The hourly pay rate for the successful applicants will be agreed upon between HP and the applicant.
• The maximum amount paid for the 10 week employment will be $5000 gross.

这个看人了,不过大公司看起来给人感觉好.小的公司对自身的发展好.不过对于毕业生来说,同时接到大公司和小公司的offer,我还是会选大的公司.

如果你自己不想学即使给你training又有什么用处呢?technical方面的东西完全是可以自学的。

至于发展空间的话,那要看你自己如何衡量了。我认为机会是同等的。

谢谢,大小公司都有好处吧.大的公司可能给你的training更多,发展的空间更大.而小公司你要什么都会,学到的东西更过.

其实我认为新手还是找个小公司作比较好,虽然可能工资福利不太好,但是你所能学到的东西是大公司不能提供的。尤其是Developer。比如上面的那个sitevisionz这类。

大公司分工太细,大多数情况你只能拿着BA写给你的functional requirements写你不知道干什么用的class,代码能写得好但是你永远不知道从business level你所做的一切有什么用处。而客户或senior level是不会管你代码是如何写的。

小公司这方面的优点就是你可以接触到许多层面的事情。而且许多真正的geek都是隐藏在这类公司里的。

当然我说的也不绝对,但是这是我5年来在IT业里所处的感受。希望能有所帮助

可不可以介绍一下,Orion Health 的interview 的过程?
Interview 是一般分2次。第一次的时候是,HR advisor,manager/team leader, Senior Staff.给你面试,很general 的问题。
第2次,是HR manager,manager/team leader, Senior Staff 给你关于技术上的考试等。。

如果都合格,你就背录用了。。

Sitevision Web Design Ltd are currently seeking a talented Graduate for the position of Web Developer.

The focus of this role is to develop new websites and web applications for our growing client base, with the main technical skills needed being PHP, Mysql and javascript. Maintaining and developing existing dynamic sites will also be required. Also knowledge of osCommerce would be advantageous, but not essential.

The successful candidate will be involved in new projects from concept through to final delivery. And work as part of our small but highly creative team.

The Gallagher Group Ltd. (GGL) is a significant employer in the Waikato region. Gallaghers develop, manufacture and market world wide a range of products primarily in the Agricultural and Security domains. GGL has an R&D team of more than seventy people covering skills including Business Analysis, Mechanical & Electronic Engineering, Software Development, Testing, Technical Writing and Project Management.

A software team including 14 developers develop software ranging from embedded firmware and digital signal processing through to enterprise client server systems. 没有听说过Peace要变成private company, 只是之前被于First Data收购,所以现在也算是财富500强的公司了
