要是这样说的话，这个条例只说了visitor visa，没有说single entry 还是multiple，那这个是给谁看的？你是从哪里理解到不是给multiple看的？

Generally, the maximum stay holding a Visitor Visa is 9 months.

We usually only allow visitors to stay for 9 months in an 18-month period.

To work this out, we look at the last day that you intend to be in New Zealand (e.g. 1 July 2020) and count back 18 months from there (e.g. 1 January 2019). When you apply for a visa through one of our offices, we make sure that in that 18-month period (e.g. 1 January 2019 – 1 July 2020) you will not be spending more than 9 months in New Zealand.

It seems Parent and Grandparent Visitor visa also only allows parents to stay only 6 months each year, don't know which part is better than the General Visitor Visa.

In the past I always applied for the General Visitor Visa for my parents, but this time I have submitted Parent and Grandparent Visitor visa. I must be mad.

According to the following info from NZ Immigration, Who hold Parent and Grandparent visitor visa, can they stay 6 months, then leave New Zealand for 7 days - maybe go to Australia for 7 days' holiday, then they come back to New Zealand for the other 3 months? Is that OK?

My question is that - Can the parents leave New Zealand, go to Australia for 7 days' holiday, then come back to New Zealand for the other 3 months. If the parents leave New Zealand, then when they come back to New Zealand, that will not be current stay, that will be the NEW stay, correct?


I will try to call the NZ immigration office to check about this, but even the phone call answer might not be correct.


The best way I guess is that, apply for the other 3 months visitor visa for parents.

我就怕带父母去一趟澳洲，准备入境新西兰，结果海关不让入境新西兰。这得多麻烦。

更怕的是，万一海关让入境了，我们顺利实现了18/36，然后，几年后，申请我父母移民签证的时候，给我们说我们不遵守Parent and Grandparent Visitor Visa,给我们拒签移民申请，这才是最可怕的！！！！！！ ！！！想想就后怕，因为我准备递交父母移民的申请

你这个强迫症很严重，你自己都找到条款了其实，我很久前看过，之后就一直记得普通旅游签是9/18，父母的是18/36，这样就行了，不用吓唬自己。

在某些方面，我确实非常谨慎。
如果移民局是电子邮件回复我一个明确的答案，我有了来自移民局的文字证据18/36可以，那么我就会很开心。

因为看过一些不太好的新闻，有一点心理阴影。
。父母移民才是最大的那件事。万一将来审理父母移民的时候，就因为多呆了一些时间，而我需要去跟移民局扯皮，到时候得翻证据，耗费大量时间与精力，心力，最主要的是自己会觉得这些根本就是没必要啊。

我做一个小生意，网站上都尽可能地去删掉不适用的条款与内容，而移民局网站上却保留着一大堆已经过期的1999年的已经不适用的文字信息？？？？从我的角度看，实在是太不靠谱，太不专业了。换了我们是客户，都可以投诉移民局的，感觉各种坑布满在移民局网站上。类似的信息，有1999年生效的，也有2010年生效的，在某个不显眼的角落还不知道有哪一个其他日期生效的类似信息？这不是耍人吗？

过期的条文上面都有明确写明不是现行政策已被替代，你自己没有看到。

太多信息了。没耐心逐字逐句去看，我都是扫一眼的。
移民局网站上这么多信息啊。

wow 刚看到这个帖子，居然9/18这个还有人硬掰，给大家提个醒，五年多次每次六个月也一定要遵守9/18原则哟，不然以后万一给父母申请移民的时候出问题了，可不要怪我没有提醒。我父母就拿的五年多次每次六个月，当时我专门发了信息给移民官，以下是移民官的回复。

It is good that you noticed this.  The 9 in 18 month rule still applies, although it does not appear to be clearly spelled out in the eVisa.

Please keep track of the time your parents are in New Zealand so as not to breach the 9 in 18 month rule.

谢谢你，确实在签证上没有写明。但是申请签证时候，其实里头都有明确说明，每十八个月里头不能超过九个月。因为当初申请之前，比较纠结申请普通旅游签，还是父母探亲，所以特地研究了每个签证下的要求。其实大家申请时候也可以认真看一下相应签证下面的注释。最后还是感谢帖子里的每一份建议，回复。
