I personally am in similar situation 3-4 years ago. And there's my experience. I guess LZ is in IT i ...
Thanks mate! It's still such a valuable comment even after 2 years!
I took your advice 2 years ago, and now am in a much better position than 2 years ago. I guess I may still stuck in the same position with slightly higher salary if I didn't made the move.
On the otherside, I guess what you mean by India oursourcing. It's really depressing or horrible if you went to Pantry/Kitchen during lunch time, all of them just sitting together with their home-made lunch. And you wonder if you are not going to move higher, then you will be one of them, how can you compete with someone happy with only 1/8 or even 1/10 of your salary..
One classic example I experienced by myself, we charge client $140,000 per month for BAU for just one on-shore and one off-shore, and one indian company proposed only $10,000 AUD for 13 people off-shore.... I know they can't do much technically, but when client look at it, it's a BIG different....
However I still see our NZ tech companies still believe quality instead of quantity when I catched up with my mates back in Auckland!
Anyway that's life.
Once again, thanks for your advise two years back, Merry Xmas!
