Greeting to supporters, staff, students and friends of International Friendship Connections (IFC)

I like to speak  on behalf of the IFC of Massey University in Albany (MU) ) that we will be having a BBQ on 22nd Apr.  This student club is organised by the international students for the international students which is call IFC (International Friendship Connection).

One of the main objectives of IFC is to build friendship not only among international students from MU but also the community namely, other international students, kiwi students, staff and wider kiwis in North Shore community. We realised that this objective is nothing new in MU but IFC would like to contribute a little and also compliment what other student clubs are doing and what the International Student Centre has done for International Students in MU. IFC Seek to participate in various events when and where possible. IFC hopes to target one social event per term but this cannot be possible without help especially from International Students from Massey University.



IFC is also supported by International Student Ministries (ISMNZ) and a couple of churches (hope to invite more on board). IFC is officially registered with ASA (Albany Student Association) in Massey University in Albany. Saying this, IFC invites all student participations in Massey University, irregardless of whether you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. Halal and vegetarian food will be provided when ever possible (coming event will include Halal and vegetarian food) in various events of the year.



Josh has conducted 3 meetings with regards to planning for the coming BBQ during the school break. The 4th meeting will be coming Monday, 4pm at the round room in the Atrium Building in Massey University Albany. Only if you are student in Massey University, we would like to request your present on Monday.



The outcome of our third club meeting chaired by Josh.



BBQ at Long Bay Beach with Halal, Vegetarian and regular meat lover food:



Reason for choosing Long Bay: near, popular and convenient. Site 12 (yet to be confirm)



22nd April (Sat) 11am to 4pm: reason being that student will know what to expect. So that they will not eat before coming to the BBQ and enjoy beach activities.



Cost for food: sponsored by Morning Star Company (yet to be confirm). If not possible, IFC may seek support from Churches or Organisations.



Target: 50 students and may be 20 people from the community.


Cost to students: $2.00 per student and $5.00 will be covered by the sponsors.



Advertising: Posters will be placed around campus. May be flyers & maps to reach Long Bay



BBQ equipment: Borrow from Churches

Reminder: please come for the 4th meeting, this coming Monday, 4pm in the round room at Atrium Building.
