for me it hurts so much in the first few weeks that I thought about giving formula instead. But when I look at my baby I just couldn't give in. Peserverance is the key to breast feeding. Because after 4 weeks , it doesn't hurt at all for me. I was surprised that one day I fed him and it doesn't hurt. It hurts so much in the beginning because you and the baby are both learning how to breastfeed. It will be better after a couple of weeks. Also I pumped for a day or two when my nipples were bleeding, that helped with the pain but not with healing because the pump kept pulling on my wound. Don't worry your nipples heal fast so it won't bleed forever. :-) Also i used lanolin which i don't really like because it gets greasy and sticks onto clothes and hurts when I separate them. |
