the government would like to open up more land in the outskirt for new developments but our local council wants intensification so that more money can be spent in inner city's transportation...
the fact for the high housing price is the demand, akl's middle class who purchased their family home a while ago has accumulated high percentage of equity due to the rising price, and is topping up more and more to purchase rentals, which sets off the increase. at the same time there are ppl coming from other parts of the country and from the globe, (mainly kiwis returning from oz or retired mid class from the uk, plus young ppl from india and china), that are further pushing up the price...
Look at the property market in syd and relax. we are just becoming another syd. has syd's price dropped or even stopped increasing? no. it is just a matter of how fast the price increases. |
