三十岁以前年薪十万的目标

我觉得应该公平一点:
自雇的不算，包括contractor，你自己给自己发工资不应该算在内，人家这里说的是年薪。这些只能算是时薪。
banana或者很小来到nz生活的不算，你们起点本身就比别人高，根本不在同一个起跑线上。

如果排除以上两点的话的话，肉肉妈说的没错，30岁以前华人拿到10w的屈指可数。

30岁前10万年薪绝对是很大的挑战，但是不要小看年轻人。华人技术移民能力不差。拿身份和发展职业不一定冲突，留学生为何不行？  

有些人很有能力，有些人很努力，也有些人即有能力，又很努力。无需置疑，能达到这个目标的人数有限，但是他们做到了。话说回来，即便30岁达不到10万收入，但一直肯努力坚持付出的人也会有所成就。

我家***(此处隐去具体关系)05年就100刀一小时了, 20多才来的,不过不是年薪雇佣的那种. 其实讨论的是30岁能到1OW多不多的问题,不是有没有,有一定是有,但说比较普遍我就不信了. 只能说很少很少.

其实做IT的，不是合同工HIT 10万的很多啊。我不知道其他专业，就以Project manager 为例，六年工作经验就可以上10万了。特别是如果你是专在一个领域的。例如finance service公司里面的IT部门的project manager.
我是过来这边读大学的，来了十年。不是在这边长大的。

this is a actually a very good topic and I'm sure many people have a lot interest in it.

I did some search in www.seek.co.nz, this is what I found as of today (include part time, contractor role):
Account have 187 jobs pay above 100k
Banking and Finance have 93
Construction have 248
Design and architecture 24
Engineering 352
Healthcare and Medical 130
Human Resource and Recruitment 105
IT 1140
Insurance 15
Legal 61
Mining 44

All other categories have less then 50 counts.

So it's very evident IT have the best chance get over 100k mark.

For me, I'm in IT field and I keep a close eye on www.seek.co.nz since I graduate and gained a good understanding which roles, skills and type of experience pays how much and which roles is in demand.
Ideally, you want develop your career toward something that's both in high demand and pay well.

It's important that you may need make job changes from time to time to accumulate the experience / skill that you want develop, and constantly keep a eye out on job market, things may change as time goes by.

That's the general strategy I follow, just my 2 cent's worth :)

Also, instead of worry about the actual salary, I'll be more concerned about building up good skills and experience.
For example, if I have two job offers on my hand, offer A pay $100k but I don't learn any new valuable skill, offer B pay $85k but I'll get to learn skills that's much more valuable in job market, I'll pick offer B in a heartbeat.

Sometimes, a company is willing to pay above market rate salary to a person for various reasons, but it's also very likely the same company may not need you anymore after few years. Especially in this day and age, companies make job redundant all the time. At end of the day, you want have a CV that worth $100k, not a job that pay $100k.

我有两个朋友，一个27，一个32。
27岁的那个朋友在美国做软件行业被大公司收购自己拿了800万美元
32岁的这个朋友只有一面之缘，是在国内做互联网的，高中毕业大学也没考上，但自己从硬件一点点搞起来的。。公司马上赴美上市，业界给他的公司股权评估的价值大概有3亿人民币。这个人比较出名。。他叫李想，他的公司是汽车之家。

虽然面临毕业还没正式工作，大学商科三年每天只睡六个小时只有三科低于A-。。余下的大块时间跟工程系的学生做系统前台。实话说，我没荒废，但要我实在的说，我还是玩的多了。
跟那些真厉害的人，没法比。谁算厉害的人？科比对媒体说他能看到每天早晨四点的洛杉矶。李想20岁出头的时候跟别人挤地铺吃泡面做产品。这才是厉害的人，为梦想执着的人，所以科比才能走到今天，所以李想能30岁就成亿万富豪。我们一般人，吃不了这种苦

玩未必是坏事，和工作不矛盾。玩可能比赚钱带来更多收益。厚积薄发。

I disagree with this at so many levels.

Firstly, depend on which profession you get in, there's plenty of professions, no matter how hard you work, you won't get 100k salary before 30. Even if you are in the right job, you work as hard as humanly possible, it still doe not guaranty you'll get 100k salary before 30.

Secondly, the 2 successful example mentioned is meaningless to this discussion. There is truck load of people get rich in this world at very young age, good for them. But comparing to those people is meaningless. Beside, the successful entrepreneurship example we talked about is the rare cases, how many other unsuccessful entrepreneurship is out there? 1:100? 1:1000?

Lastly, the idea that those people success because '我们一般人，吃不了这种苦' is flawed. There are many many people out there in this world live in hardship beyond our imagination, people worked in unimaginable harsh condition and get paid barely enough to feed themselves, does that mean all those unfortunate people will all end up be millionaire? On the flip side, those legendary millionaire get rich not because they work hard, but they work smart. Is working hard the reason Bill Gate, Steve Job, Mark Zuckerberg successful?

努力不一定有回报。不努力肯定没有回报。输的人有的努力过有的没努力过，但赢的人一定努力过。没有例外。不管你是富二代延续家族财产创造新的财富神话，还是白手起家实现梦想。他们都付出过，付出过血泪的努力才能有这些成就。中国习主席的父亲确实有权有地位，但你能说他没努力，没付出，没动脑筋，就能做到今天的位置？不可能的。

If you work for a large corporate, it really depend on your area of expertise to get 6 figures salary before 30. I work for a multi national company in auckland, I hit 100k salary when I was 27 (2.5 years after graduated from uni), and I hit 200k salary at 31. My area of expertise is financial markets.
