In my understanding,
you can give them 14 days notice about rent arrears: http://www.dbh.govt.nz/UserFiles ... of-rent-arrears.pdf
If it is boarding house rent, then you can terminate the agreement on your own (by written) by giving them 48 hours notice if they didn't do anything 10 days after your 14 days rent arrears notice.
If it is house rent, giving them the 14 days rent arrears notice firstt, then you can:
1. apply to the Tenancy Tribunal to end their tenancy and for them to pay all the rent they owed.

2. giving them 42 days notice to terminate If the owner of the property or a member of the owner’s family requires the property to live in. From: http://www.tinz.net.nz/uploads/2 ... RMINATE_TENANCY.pdf
Simply cross out the "90" days, then put "42" days instead.
In your case, Those two options can occur at the same time I think... |
