I work for one of the big 4s and I've seem quite a few "mature" graduates joining the firm in recent years. They are in their late 20's, 30's and even 40's. Most of them do sucess in their roles because of their maturity however the workload does require you have enough family support so you can balance out work and family time. Big 4s normally do not look light on work/life balance, however depends your career goal, you will need to make sacrifce for promotions.
If you start everything from beginning, i.e. getting your CA or other license through big 4, with a right attitude you will have no problem getting it. If you want to progress to more senior role, you will have to show all your other strengths rather than technical capability, so knowing how to social and social with the right person are very important.
