the officer said the application was approved, then we left the passport and courier bags. we received that on the next day.

lol, we went to eat a large chinese shopping town in San Gabriel...  some chinese restaurants didnt make good food.  

West hollywood is a nice place indeed.. I saw some nice houses in Acadia actually.

i dont know about the sales tax issue. i tried to buy something from apple us, when i entered ZIP, it showed the sales tax automatically. you may try.
