很多年前,一个日本游客在马来西亚(忘了具体国家了)旅游,在海边被椰子树上的椰子砸丢了命,日本政府据理力争,从马来要了高额赔偿金。不管日本政府的理由是什么,总之能给本国人争取最大利益,就好。

First of all, I will say this is NOT a good example, at least not good enough to support your idea.
What we are talking about here is multiple victims with different nationalities. COMPARE to others, there should NOT be any SPECIAL COMPENSATION. However, in your case, no COMPARISION at all. The main force is how would others feel about this action (by action, I mean “demanded special compensation by Chinese Embassy”) which was brought up by Chinese Embassy. More specifically, are these sort of actions really help us to set up a good imagine as a huge growing country.
PS, another example from above posts – “Save Private Ryan”. I don’t think this movie would exist if majority of American families only have one child, would it?!
I think when we discuss this, we should pay more attention on “is this appropriate or not?” rather than “right or wrong”. |
