when you have many c.v in front of you, how do you decide which one to interview with? what are the factors here before you decided to see the candidate?

not saying grade isn't important. It took me long time to get my first job partly because i did E&E and was looking to break in to IT and what i learnt from my degree isn't much related to what the industry is expecting in real life.

In reality there are still many companies that wouldn't even interview someone because their grade look shit on CV (kind of industry dependant). For Telecom's fresh grade program, they usually have to compete with 1000s of others to really stand out and get selected at the end, and in that case grade will probably be one of the determining factor.

All i am trying to say is, i think i do ok now even with crap uni grade, and usually i don't specifically look for people that do well academically when i try to short list CV/candidates because grade doesn't necessarily reflect that person's ability to perform in the real world, that's all.

My personal view is, for those that are capable of getting good grade in uni, in real life they should be able to achieve even more than most of us that struggle to do well in uni, so i do have a lot of respect for straight A / honor students. :)

是 我也觉得学的到东西是最好.

着帖子的讨论重点是 已雇人公司/中介 的角度来看,在为一个entry level position 选人的时候会不会看成绩

To me this is still kind of industry dependant. I have hired entry level people into the team before and i never even care bout their grade. Instead i gave them real life scenarios questions and try to find out how they go about solving an issue.

Obviously all hiring manager does it differently, and look for different thing. I have to admit usually for big companies (Big 4, multinational companies etc) they seems to care a lot more bout grade especially for entry level position, and those are probably the only indicator that will reflect how good the potential candidate is.

To be honest if i am hiring a fresh grad, i will probably be looking for someone that has long hair, look nice on short skirt, and looks even better when i drop the pen and they pick it up for me... my hiring criteria are easy.... no good grade needed really. :)

I thought the hr in telecom will do the shortlist for you and present you with handful cvs rather than for you to read 50-100 cvs yourself,grade is really catering for hr so does skill matrix.I do agree with what you said for the rest.

对,我们公司最近在做战略转型,更多的在ms dynamics  和 moss上下了很大的功夫,在bespoke上的项目越来越少,找了一个做saas的公司,给我的待遇还不错而且离家和近。

1. 工作是看给人能力+工作经验,成绩在这时候不重要
2. INTERVIEW是也不看成绩,但是成绩是在你工作经验不足情况下最有帮助的
3. 如果只是混个毕业证,那出来工作还是要补上的,特别是专科技能的,比如会计,到了会计公司,晚上还得恶补,还是那句话,“出来混的,总要还的”
4. 如果你有兴趣继续深造,名校的标准就是EQUIVALENT TO SECOND CLASS HONOUR (即B+以上), 当然好的工作经验可以弥补
5. 如果想走捷径,GRADUATE PROGRAMME,那B+的成绩就是硬指标
6. 主要来说,专业技术类,如律师,会计,医生,工程师,对成绩比较看重,因为工作和学的东西紧密相连,至于管理,那很难通过成绩来衡量的

个人觉得对于刚毕业的别人还是很看重成绩的,对于已经工作了的就无所谓了,主要还是看工作能力
