I have been in Australia, USA & Canada but New Zealand wine, I believe, is the best wine selection in the world. Red wine I would recommend Central Otago Pinot Noir like Gibbston Valley, Mt Difficulty & other brands. Also Syrah is become popular now. I would like to recommend Hatton Estate Syrah. Hatton Estate Vinyards are located in Hawkes Bay/Napier area. I really like Tahi Merlot Cabernet Sauv from Hatton Estate. Tahi(tah-hee) is the native New Zealand Maori word for the number. They are limited producing around 2500 bottles every year & number-marked at label of bottles. Their winemaker told me that one bottle of Tahi is now sold around US$1000 at some of 5 star hotels in Beijing. You can go to visit www.hattonestate.com & get knowing them. It's really nice wine. Get a chance & try one day here. Cheers!! |
