it depends what kind of shares you purchased.
- few stocks had disappeared- pumpkin patch, fisher and pyker
- fletcher building from $10 back to 2008 crisis price.
- Spark - less than 30% gain in the last 10 years
- some retails stocks, eg tower, warehouse, basically negative growth.
- Restaurant brands - growth more than 200%.
The answer is all depending. Whereas for some houses, the lock-in price is high, but there is stable income every week except dealing with tenants. People who invested between 2010 to 2014 should do well.
The problem with stock is the timing to sell which is an important factor. It is a wave.
