Alisa Xayalith is the lead vocalist and songwriter of this duo group, although they become a five piece band when touring.  Alisa has a Chinese-Thai background.



The Naked and Famous are a New Zealandindie rockband from Auckland.They formed in 2008 when Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith recorded two EPs withengineer Aaron Short, a fellow student at Auckland'sMAINZ music college. The EPs weresubsequently released on a local independent label and Powers and Xayalithbegan performing live with Ben Knapp (bass) and Jordan Clark (drums).
In 2009, the group recorded the single All of This. Aaron Short became aperforming member of the group and Jesse Wood (drums) and David Beadle (bass)joined the band as fulltime members.
The group then set about recording the single "Young Blood" and theirdebut album, recording mostly at home and at Auckland studio, The Lab. "Young Blood" debutedon the New Zealand chart at number one in 2010—the first New Zealand artist inthree years to do so.[1]The Naked and Famous released their debut studio album, Passive Me, Aggressive You, on 6 September 2010 on their own label,Somewhat Damaged. [2]Thealbum was produced by Thom Powers and Aaron Short and mixed by Billy Bush.
On 6 December 2010, the BBC announced that TheNaked and Famous had been nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll.[3]
In 2011, the band garnered six nominations at the New Zealand Music Awards for Album of theYear, Single of the Year, Best Group, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, BestAlternative Album and the People's Choice Award. They were also nominated forthe NZ On Air Best Music Video and won the MAINZ Best Engineer Award and theMAINZ Best Producer Award.[4]

昨天去看的现场 Alisa Xayalith 唱功了得，在vector arena这么破的音效下也能唱的很好不简单

相比较 ，Brooke Fraser 有些地方破音，不过本人长得很好看

看了昨天的颁奖，这个组合就是大赢家啊

不过这个组合红得那首歌，真的很local，感觉50-60年代的感觉

我挺喜欢的kimbra怎么没出来呢

Brook fraser算是新西兰歌手里不错的,蛮多歌都挺好听，不过最喜欢的还是她刚出道的时候那首arithmetic,不过这个歌曲跟atomic kitten的someone like me感觉好像
