ICAA collaboration
On 1 September 2010 we announced a collaboration between the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA). This collaboration will create a powerful alliance between the two organisations and cement the chartered accountant qualification as the foremost professional designation for accountants within the Asia-Pacific region.
A governance board has been established to oversee the collaboration comprising the ICAA president, the NZICA chairman, board directors from each institute and the two chief executives.
See our 1 September media release for more information.
One year on – great collaboration progress made
24 August
As NZICA and ICAA reflect on a year of collaboration it’s clear that exciting progress has been made, and that more excellent initiatives lie ahead that will benefit members and the profession on both sides of the Tasman.
In a nutshell:
Excellent progress has been made on the four key areas of collaboration, with the recent joint Chartered Accountants Program representing the high point
The Institutes agree there is opportunity to consider further innovative areas of collaboration.
Recently the Boards NZICA and ICAA met in Melbourne to review progress and discuss recommendations from the joint governance board (Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ)).
The meeting focused on reviewing progress to date, and also considered options for moving forward with the collaboration.
