不用一字字听，就算听中文也不是一字字听。英文不是母语的话你会把听到后翻译成中文去理解就慢了半拍。
如果你没听清她的工作是做什么的，你是不会明白为何枕头。

Ata Marie. Here is your 6.30 News. Aucklanders are waking up to a level 3 lockdown and the rest of the country is in level 2 after a member of an Auckland family tested positive for covid-19.

The mother works in an airport laundry and catering service which could be a possible link to the border, but the source of infection is yet to be identified. Employees there have routine covid testing and the woman last tested negative on January 18th.

A modelling expert says, the three new community cases could be the tip of the iceberg of a bigger cluster and a quick shift of alert level was the right move. Professor Shawn Hendy says the source of the infection could have come from a pillow or a facemask at the border.

"But we do know that survives for a short period of time on surfaces, you know, so that's a kind of scenario that I have been imagining is maybe a discarded mask or a pillow, um… that an infected traveller you know might have been using on the plane and then this woman has handled it as part of her job in the laundry."

Roadblocks will be set up around Auckland preventing non-essential travel from the region for the next three days and police say anyone trying to leave should be, should expect to be stopped. Officers would be patrolling at 8 checkpoints from Wellsford in the North to Pukekohe in the South.

And now this site is going to double up as a testing centre for anyone who has been in Papatoetoe High School over the last week. That includes 1,500 students, 150 teachers, any visitors and direct family members. Whether you are symptomatic or not, casual contact or not, the advice is to get tested and isolated for 14 days. Now Papatoetoe High School is just one of the 21 locations these family members have visited between New Plymouth and south Auckland, between the 6th of Feb and the Saturday 13th, just this last Saturday. So go on to the Ministry of Health website if you have been to one of these locations. Advice there is to get a test at one of the many locations pop up here at Auckland and two locations in New Plymouth. Indira.”

话说，有没有新西兰拍的比较生活化的电视剧，像friends那样的，以前播过一个搞怪的新西兰警察局的，太不生活化了。

对的， 如果是aucklanders后面需要跟are 或者 were, 从语法角度上来接直接跟doing是错误的。

这个真的是毫无难度吧，用的词汇都是普通级别的。不敢说一个词不漏，99%肯定没有问题。

个人的一点看法，如果是Aucklanders，那首先她省略了are， 如果不算语法错误的话，其次，和这句话的下半句不对应，因为aucklanders是人，而的the rest明显是指全国其他地方，后面用了is，不会指除了奥克兰人以外的其他地方的人，那否则至少后面也要跟个are。而且请注意标题，是Auckland wakes up，当然新闻的标题可以都是现在式，但至少也错一个侧面说明了主语是Auckland。只是个人一点看法。看上去很简单，但是如果我来翻译，总是会情不自禁地思考语法对不对，语法不对是不是我听错了？

楼主， 只是个个人建议， 如果你在学习和练习英文听力， 在过了原始阶段， 词汇量达到一定程度后， 开始尝试“听而不译”， 直接吸收英文， 而不在脑袋中每个单词翻译成中文。  一开始可能会觉得有点别扭的， 甚至在脑袋中形成不了意思， 这很正常， 坚持下去你会发现听英文能力会突然间再度提升的。

有些人听的习惯有些人听不习惯，仁者见仁。我虽然来新西兰快4年了但是我还是听不太习惯这边的发音，在这边认识到几个加拿大移民，跟他们聊天都问我是不是在北美生活过。

还是回国吧

语文其实不用咬文嚼字，Auckland 也好 Aucklanders 也好 Auckland's 也好，意思都差不多。

楼主的问题在于理解方面的，因为TA已经听懂了pillow，但是不明白为啥要提pillow。。。哈哈！！！

确实，你就让你一个本地白人kiwi来听这段再写下来他也不一定能做到百分百一字不差，何况我还不是abc也不是搞同声翻译专业的

有可能，我就倒回去听了一遍，没怎么注意。像我个人比较偏美式口音，也习惯听偏美式口音，有er结尾的单词一般我会发的比较重，比较轻的我就容易搞混，而且我一直不太习惯新西兰的发音，比如left说出成lift

有口音很正常啊，英国人有英国口音，美国人有美国口音，新加坡人有新加坡口音，这个播音员明显的kiwi毛利口音，我又没说她英语听起来不像母语。比如你说一个中国人东北口音重，难道意思就是他中文不好了吗？

问的很好，其实就是这句我听了两边，但是我两边都是听到does，有可能我听错了，你可以仔细听听或者放慢两倍速， is 和 does的区别还是很明显的，退一步，字正腔圆的播音员是不应当让人is和does都听起来容易混淆的。

说到语法问题，我真心认为本地白人对待语法没有我们想的那么严格，比如说我经常听我kiwi员工说：“I done that", 严格意义上来说这个说法是错误的
