I cannot understand.........

1) My colleague is earning $180,000 annually and was recently made bankrupt.Credit card debt $50k
Signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement and cannot settle.... being sued.

2) My boss is retiring, worked 40 years on the job ( also high-income earner)
His only saving is his house and recently sold for 3.5 million. He and his wife will have a retirement fund of $3 million (after paying off debt), no other saving.
He is lucky that his property (life style block) increased in value, that is where his retirement will depend on.


i am a junior in the office, an immigrant earning about $60k, humble living and have a mortgage-free home ( no rich parents, on our own saving before immigrating).
Still think I can survive well and better than my boss who is 20 years my senior and my high-income colleague.

That is something I can't understand.

The real thing that matters is that you need to enjoy your life, and though your 180,000 annual earner colleague getting bankrupt proves him to be a loser (only "for now"), your boss is the real winner, he enjoyed his life, still with more than 3m asset for his retirement, wish I could do the half of that when I hit the retirement age

自己过好就行了，你同事过得如何不好评论，但你老板比你自在多了，套了现那可就是6m现金，到小城市买个1m的房子，过过lifestyle，剩下的5m，光投资的收益就够他们正常花销了，剩下大头花费，就从里面抽就好了，活到100 没啥问题

你有个房子又能如何，坛子里谁没房子？ 没贷款的都一把一把的，就算这边没房子的，国内北上广深谁家还没两套房子，所以，不用太执着，有钱是一方面，另一方面是怎么变得更有钱，你说是吧，哈哈哈哈

well savings wise you are better than the one who got bankrupt, but not sure you are better than your boss since he got 3m. if you have more than 3m thats different story then. Also I couldn't see whats your point unless you are earning more than em.

应该生活方式不同。
像我本人吃饭基本是上超市买来自己做，所以钱比较经花。
我的同事几乎每天都在外面吃至少一顿，在外面喝个咖啡，饮料之类的也是随随便便的事，工资再高也是月光。
