IT skills is one of the most transferable working skill internationally. So I don't see any problem regardless you want stay in NZ long term or move somewhere else.
At early stage of career, you should learn as much as possible. Front end, back end, mobile, Java, .Net, SQL, Unix OS admin, Windows OS Admin, UML etc... This will maximize your chance to answer technical questions well in your job interview, and will help you to do well in your first jobs.
When I was at uni, I staying in lab till 10-11pm every day from year 2-5, include most weekends. Thinking back, every min i spend is worthwhile. |
