关于PAYE的问题，请教一下

公司可以把 Gross salary打到我帐上 然后我自己付PAYE deduction吗？这样会跟正常的步骤有什么区别？有没有相关法律的要求？谢谢

Then I don't see any problems there. Even if you don't make the IRD payment , that is your employer will be at risk since by filling the IR345/348, he actually admited to IRD he has  deducted these PAYE from your pay, so if the IRD did not receive the payment, he is the one will be penalised and liable for the balances.

the way thankyoupayroll works, your boss only need to make one payment per pay cycle (to thankyoupayroll), and thankyoupayroll will make the appropriate payment to you, IRD, etc etc. which is kind of what your boss want anyway right? (no separate payment to make from your boss)

Thanks. all the IRD345/348 are up to date. the only issue is with the method of payment. As my boss want to pay me gross salary and i make that PAYE payment to IRD but with the company's IRD number.

Thanks. all the filing part isn't really the issue for us. The company is up to date with all the PAYE filing, EMS, Deduction etc. the only issue/hassle for my boss is making one payment to IRD and a seperate payment to me for my salary, and he want to give me the gross salary and I pay the PAYE deduciton from my own account

if your boss is trying to save himself hassle, outsource it to an intermediate payroll provider (such as thankyoupayroll), your boss only have to make the payment once, and thankyoupayroll will do all the PAYE payment, ACC etc all on behlaf of your boss, they also file the employer monthly schedule on behalf of your company, and generate timesheet, and track your leave balance etc etc, which mean most of the headaches of payroll are taken away. Best part, it's free to use them (subsidized by IRD).

I know it sounds like i am tryinig to help them to pull in business, in reality i have no association with them at all (other than, i am using their service myself). Trust me, they are that good. :)

You employer need to do the PAYE,

there is IR345 &IR348 the compnay needs to file as well. Otherwise IRD would not know the payment you made under your employer's ird number is actually for you. How you submit that information to IRD then?

1. 没错，确实雇主这样是把他的责任转移到我身上了。
2. 虽然钱是从我银行出来，但是我付款的时候是输入公司的IRD号码。IRD会在乎是从哪个银行账号付钱吗？

保守起见还是通过雇主付PAYE.

2.通过你自己的账户付自己的tax，IRD会对你的tax有疑问，不清楚你是普通员工还是contractor

这公司没有一个“公司”账户，基本上花费都是个人账户出去的。

了解，大神能不能提示一下做账的时候会有什么类型的麻烦？
是不是类似double entry的科目跟平时不一样？给了IRD钱的时候是不是
Dr PAYE
Cr payable to director （而不是 cash)

之类的？有关联方应付款？

if it's a small company, you should ask your boss to use thankyoupayroll.co.nz. It's a cloudbased payroll service, and it's free to use. (i use it for my small business)

主要是雇佣关系的问题——如果是一般employer-employee，PAYE的确是employer的责任要付，但如果是其他关系比如contractor以及service provider，可以直接付你全部，然后你自己来报税，只不过那不是工资了。

thanks, it is indeed the employer's responsiblity. I have just called IRD and it seems the customer service guy wasn't too sure either. he also emphasized that PAYE is the employer's responsiblity, I understand that. but since I am the only staff in this company, all IRD related matters are managed by me.

The only issues are
1. whether employer can pay me Gross salary e.g.$100
2. I receive this $100 in my bank, i keep the $90. and pay the $10 PAYE to IRD through eletronic payment but I will enter the company's IRD number.
so really the only question is, whether this PAYE payment, can come out of my own bank account but assigned to the company's IRD number

i thoguht ur question is reasonably interesting, so i googled it and found this:

In short, i think PAYE is an employer responsibility. You (as an employee) pay your own PAYE only if you fit the IR 56 taxpayers criteria.

Note: i work in IT and have nothing to do with payroll etc, so these are only my personal interpretation of how it works and i could be wrong.
