花天堂 & 陌生的香港人请进(Council都有啥福利呀？）附Council面试问题及参考答案

Council说下星期给我offer，说要商量看给我多少年薪, 请问前辈，Council除了annual salary以外，员工还有别的啥福利？

PS：Council面试是有标准提问的，而且总喜欢要example，我把我准备的帖上来，希望能帮到有需要的人：

Tell us about yourself.
这是面试基本上都会问到的，简单介绍自己，顺便提一下 my skills/experience and the position is a good match

What do you know about the organisation?
提前做research，看他的company culture，然后就说是拍马屁了，比如：friendly working environments, lots of opportunities and trainings, very supportive company culture… 然后说 there are what I have been looking for….



3.
What is your understanding of the requirements of the position?
Well, I think it is pretty clear stated in the advertisement. The prefect candidate should be …, with strong design skill in … And these are what I have been doing for the last “x” years.

What do you see as the key challenges in this job for you?
The key challenge would be to upskill myself in the area of …, to familiarise myself with …(company policy), to get to know the team…

What are you looking for in your next job?
Somethingdifferent. Over the last “x” years, I have been focusing on …, and I would liketo explore …/ to be involved in …

Since you job change, what different objectives or goals do you have?

这个问题比较难回答，我就说我英语is not my first language，（前提是自己的英语不能太差,不过我觉得这不是好的答案）

Do you like to work independently or as part of a team?
I have good team work skills but I am equally comfortable working on my own. The most important thing is to get the job done.

I would follow the company policy/rules

Are you more concerned with quality or meeting deadlines?
I am more concerned with quality but I always prioritise my tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

What sort of things will make you angry or frustrated in your work environment?
I don’t think getting angry or frustrated will help ease the situation. So I would rather stay clam, investigate the problem, develop/evaluate available options to getthe best practical solution.

How do you communicate effectively with your customers/colleagues/people with less technical knowledge?  
自己结合过去举例啦

How do you handle a task that is beyond your practice area?
I always work within my practice area but I am also keen to learn new things under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Questions to Ask Potential Employers in Job Interviews

准备3-5个问题，例如：

• What are you expecting for the     person you will hire in this position
• What type of support is     provided for this role?
• What are the greatest challenges     facing the person in this position?
• What career progression do you see     for someone in this position?

...
基本上都是些网上能搜到的问题，另外，如果大学成绩好的话，面试前把成绩单拿出来也是有surprise效果的

Are you sure they really gave you the offer then?

It is a bit weird that they dont even tell/discuss with you what is the salary band if they do ....  probably it is a good idea to contact t ...

62k - 75k. It's not negotiable. First year 62K, then raises 3K every year until you reach 75K. Council has become less attractive, many of my collegue have left.

I am doing a solution architect role in IT. Generally market rate is around 100K. Council pays much less than that.

solution architect 的market rate 不止100K 起码加个20K吧 到130 140都有可能 再上就要换title 做EA 了

Oh I see....another high-paid IT person,   I actually saw the jobs in your team are of quite high salary band, with H as the start with senior roles of " I " or more ...

I would say your team is one of the highest pay teams in the council's and its organisations, so if even you are not happy with your pay, we all could only   {:7_365:} ......


Btw, you actually dont need to stick to councils/CCO as you have lot of choices elsewhere, not like us, our profession somehow pre-determines that council being largely the main choice....which council were you from before?

Council福利...可以打感冒預防針? ...北岸/西區的好像巴士大約半價? 加入PSA好像有些租車, hotel等等之類有優惠? 還有每年聖誕節可能還能幫你要到個bonus之類的吧...

Is LS also from council? Also doing engineering job? How come you sound so familiar with this process? AND what is the market value of an engineer with some year of experience?

......他們已經給你offer你了 不會連你的職位是什麼band都不告訴你吧 這都一早被Auckland Transition Agency 按市場價格定好的 一般專業職系要大學本科學位的像 business analysts, engineers, landscape architects, urban planners, policy analysts, urban designers, 等等 通常都是這個 G grade的 - 當然上落會有一個特定的幅度
