Exactly right mate, just to give gylamb a very good example. Wang Pu Cheng, the champion of NZ chess is my friend's son. He went to Auckland Grammar but it is irrelevant. Because in NZ, the maths foundation is soooooooo bad. He is studying in princeton now majoring in acturial science. He is finding it so hard because people from other countries are soooooo good at maths.
Stats at UoA is non maths based, but it should be. They will never assess you on maths, because people will fail.
At least Australia has some standards, never lower the requirement is good. UoA is just rubbish, always lower standards, NZ is always like this. |
