How tall and how wide is the girth of the tree?
If the tree is more than 6m in height (native trees such as Pohutukawa), or 8m (exotic trees - about 2 stores high ba), or with a girth of more than 600 (native)/800 cm (exotic) measured from 1.4m above the ground (this is the Auckland City Council's standards but other council's requirements are quite similar) - then you cannot chop the trees without Council's approvel na...
However, the law has been changed recently but it still has 2 years before you can really freely chop the trees down.
Normally, you will need to get an ARBORIST to have a look for you to see it is OK to chop the tree down without Council's approvel and he may also do the works for you if this is OK to be chopped. Check Yellow Pages na....
Unfortunately, I dont think there is any Chinese working here as an arborist? |
