Looks like a great family fun event to go on Easter Friday.
Thousands of Easter eggs will be dropping from the sky as a helicopter hovers over the Auckland Domain on April 18.
After the helicopter has safely left the area, the race is on for children to storm the field and collect the eggs.

The spectacle is part of the free annual Egg Day Out which will be at the Auckland Domain, North Harbour Stadium and Vodafone Events Centre on Good Friday.

More than 30,000 Cadbury Easter eggs will be handed out during the event.

Families can join in the Easter egg hunt, and egg and spoon race while kids have fun on bouncy castles and have their faces painted.

Last year thousands of families flocked to Orakei Domain to take part.

The event will run from 11am till 4pm.
