YC Homes is an innovative and well-established Residential Main Contractor with a wealth of experience based in Albany. We have a demonstrated track record of delivering high quality projects throughout Auckland, the projects typically range between $1m to $20m in value.

Due to consistent and steady growth, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our QS team, you will be working closely with the QS and Operations team by providing an excellent QS experience.

Key Responsibilities
Complete the preliminary project estimation through to the final cost plans
Prepare competitive tenders and quotations
Carry out material and quantity take-off for projects which includes sourcing suppliers and subcontractor, collate price for comparison
Analyse costings on each job
Maintain awareness of the different building contracts and their applications
Prepare contract documents and be responsible for some project-related admin work.
Prepare payment claim and variation order
Site visits and assessment of progress
Develop and maintain project schedule
Liaise with managers and supervisors and support them to ensure quality of workmanship
Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders


Experience
Hold a minimum QS qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 7
Minimum 3+ years experience in QS within residential construction projects post qualification
Experience in Microsoft Suite, CostX, Buildertrend is advantage
A good understanding of building and safety regulations
Knowledge of residential construction estimates, methodology, materials, construction management and programming
Great communication and negotiation skills
An ability to work with multiple declines
