Auckland Garden DesignFest Bus Tour
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November 2013
Following the success of our 2011 bus tours, we are planning more
for each day in 2013, visiting a carefully selected range of gardens
catering for a wide range of interests.
Once again numbers will be limited, so plan to book early to avoid disappointment.
The 2013 Tours will once again be led by Penny Cliffin, senior lecturer
in Landscape Architecture at Unitec, and Anna-Maria Morris, a qualified landscape designer and GDSNZ Events Committee member.
Both days’ bus tours will run from 9am to 4pm, beginning and finishing at Highwic, 40 Gillies Avenue, Newmarket, with free parking available there and at nearby Newmarket School netball courts. We will then round off the tours with a relaxing guided walk – glass of wine in hand – of Highwic’s heritage garden which is cared for by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. A sweet pea festival is planned for late November so participants should be able to enjoy the sight and scent of some early blooms.
Bus tour tickets are $120 per day, which includes lunch, refreshments, coach travel, tour guides, entry fees and garden notes with a 10 per cent discount for those taking both days' tours.
Feedback from the 2011 tours was outstanding.
Notes: • Due to the terrain of some gardens we are unable to accommodate delegates with wheel chairs and walking frames. • The tour may be varied or cancelled as circumstances change. • A $75 refund is available for cancellations prior to 2nd November 2013. No refund available after that date. Please remember to bring sun and rainwear, just in case!
For more information about the tours and to book one, please email Penny Cliffin pcliffin@unitec.ac.nz |
