Footage has been secretly captured by a New York street ice cream vendor showing a policewoman dancing and verbally abusing him.
The footage, which was captured during this year's northern summer by a Mr Softee ice cream truck operator from his legal spot on 34th Street in Manhattan, has just been posted by the Street Vendor Project on YouTube.

The vendor, who claims he has been harassed by the police officer previously, now wishes to remain anonymous in fear of retribution, according to the post.

In the film, the NYPD officer, shouts at the vendor, "What is wrong with you?" as she dances and twirls on the road.

"You gotta stop acting like this," the ice cream vendor replies.

That's when the officer crosses her forearms and shouts, "Blow me bitch".

The Street Vendor Project, who posted the clip, is an organisation with more than 1,500 active members that lobbies for more power and respect for street vendors and is part of New York's Urban Justice Centre.

Comments posted suggest the officer did not live up to the 'Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect' motto of the NYPD.

Director of the Street Vendor Project, Sean Basinski, says harassment is an everyday occurrence and the organisation will use the hashtag #blowmebitch in exposing future cases.
