New Baggage Allowances Simplified Across NetworkWe're streamlining our baggage allowances so there's one easy to remember entitlement on all flights - wherever you're headed. The new allowances apply to Air New Zealand operated flights only.
New Baggage Allowances
For Economy fares you'll be able to take one checked bag up to 23 kg*.
This limit increases to two checked bags (up to 23kg each) if you're travelling on a Works Deluxe fare to Australia or the Pacific, or flying Premium Economy on a long-haul trip.
You can take three pieces (up to 23kg each) when you fly Business Class on long-haul journeys.
As a Gold Elite, Gold, or Koru member, you'll be allowed to take an extra piece of checked baggage. This is up to a maximum of three pieces (up to 23 kg each).
*Passengers purchasing Seat Only fares on Short-haul International (for travel from 18 August) are not entitled to a free checked baggage allowance however can decide to take a bag on the day of travel by purchasing this at the airport.
Sporting equipment
In addition to checked baggage allowance, one sporting item can be carried as a checked in piece of luggage at 50% of extra bag cost for all international flights.
New allowances begin 26 May 2010
For all bookings that are ticketed on/before 25 May 2010, previous baggage allowances will be honoured, so flights you've already got booked will be covered under the baggage rules at the time of the ticket being issued. Bookings that are ticketed on/after 26 May 2010 will carry the new baggage entitlements. |
