[育儿话题]奥克兰学校教育质量之比较：一个定量分析

首先我需要向大家道歉，一周之后的时间我才发出帖子。发这个贴子的目的主要是想比较一下奥克兰公立学校和私立学校对于孩子的教学质量有没有差别．我想这个板块的爸爸妈妈都会望子成龙，望女成凤．在我的分析里，衡量教学质量的指标是高考成绩入大学的升学率。

首先，先来解释一些术语。

Decile – 是一个从1 – 10的指数，是一个学校学生家长的收入指标。如果一个学校的decile是10, 这代表学生家长的平均收入是在新西兰所有人的收入中占最高的10%.Decile 1就是收入最低的10%. Decile 99在这个分析里面代表私立学校。

NCEA – (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) 是新西兰的高中National Qualification. 新西兰大部分的学生是以这个考试途径试图进入大学的。

CIE – (Cambridge International Examinations) 是英国剑桥大学起源设计给在国外的英国人进入英国大学的考试系统。CIE现在在全球数多国家被推广。新西兰有少些学校采用CIE.

阅读之前的一些注意事项:
在我的分析中，我只去看了学校用NCEA进入大学的方式，因为我没有CIE的数据。有很多只提供CIE的学校升学率也很高，但是我在我的分析中没有考虑到这些学校。

认识我的朋友们不用担心，我没有挪用任何公家的数据，不会造成任何隐私的问题。放心的看吧。

首先咱们先看一下decile对高中升学率有没有影响。我用统计软件R画出以下的图。



大家如图所看，当decile增加的时候，学校的升学率基本上也会增加。这说明，decile越高的学校，学生总体水平越高。

以下是奥克兰地区的高中入大学的升学率的具体数字。我所计算的升学率(UE)是看学校的NCEA升学率。升学率计算方式是由学校进入大学总人数除以学过至少一门高考科目的总人数。

注意: *** 代表这个学校既提供NCEA也提供CIE.一般这种学校会把他们认为聪明的学生放到CIE的班里，把他们认为不聪明的学生放到NCEA班里。这些有***的学校都是名声很棒的学校，但是我想让大家注意到的是，如果学生在这些学校被分到NCEA班里，似乎学生能上大学的几率似乎和其他普通学校一样，甚至更低。
