Motel Manager About the business We are a group of small motels in Christchurch seeking to hire staff with excellent leadership skills and passion for the motel industry to join our team as motel managers. Experience in the hospitality/motel industry is preferred. Your excellent communication skills will help interact with guests. We are all friendly service and help. We are looking for a competent and technical person who can manage the accommodation facilities and related operations in addition to managing staff. About the role The role includes a range of customer service, housekeeping, maintenance, reception and admin. Rosters are generally five on, two off. The position will start as part-time with training provided. Requirements: · Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. · Minimum of two years of previous experience in a relevant/similar industry is favorable. · Minimum of Level 7 qualifications in Hospitality management or related field. · A NZ full driving licence is required. · Proactive and positive minded. · Must have excel knowledge of software used for online reservation management application and one channel manager,required proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite · Multi-tasking under pressure. · Organizing skills · Overseeing accounting and purchasing activities for areas of responsibility · Flexibility to work in rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays. Duties: · Reception work, managing the reservation system · General housekeeping, supervising housekeeping duties, i.e. room cleans and services both during the low and peak season · Managing websites and PMS/RMS (property management system) · Supervision of staff, overseeing the cleaner's work. You will have an eye for details and be skilled in staff management. · Deal with customer complaints, assess and review customer satisfaction. · Operation of the laundry. · Undertaking maintenance and the upkeep of the property and grounds to a high standard. · Inspect entire motel for cleanliness and attractive appearance. · Taking inventory of goods and ordering new stock. · Excellent communication skills to be able to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds. · Payment of creditors, preparation of income and expenditure accounting records using excel spreadsheets, banking and monthly reporting to the owner. · Marketing to achieve continual and measurable improvements · Reporting to owner of the business If you believe you have the right skills and experience and would like to join our team, please email us at coachmanmotel@xtra.co.nz with your CVs with covering letter.
