For decile over 5, there is not much difference in funding between if there is 1-2 points different.
So for example, change from 10 to 9 , difference of $29 per pupil - really a small amount of money.

A 'step change' is further division of the lower four deciles into three deciles each. Thus, creating 12 sub-classifications at these deciles. A school with 'step A' classification at decile 1 gets $905.81 per pupil whereas a school with 'step C' classification at the same decile gets $731.30. The table below shows the breakdown of the targeted funding, including the 'step classification'.
