DEVELOPMENT of a block of terraced housing and a supermarket for the country’s fledgling newest town is under way.
Initial site work has started for stage one of the Ormiston Town Centre, involving 64 terraced houses. Construction is expected to start early next year.
Block resource consent has also been approved for a 6000 square metre Pak’n Save supermarket.
Civil work has commenced and construction is expected to start later this year, says Evan Davies, Todd Property Group managing director.
Pak’n Save doors are expected to open late next year or in early 2016.
Mr Davies says it’s great to have broken ground on the first stage of the development.
“It is early days, but we’re proud of what’s being achieved and pleased with the progress made so far.
“The Ormiston development is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in partnership with the Auckland Council to build an entire new town centre from scratch,” he says.
