Typing Chinese on desktop with keyboard

Can anyone advise what softwares can be installed or any alternatives so as to type chinese at easy or convenient ways on desktop with keyboard as a beginner. Thanks in advance!

Just need to know your "pinyin", or more often just the first letter of each character. E.g. typing "ky" gives options like "可以，科研，刻意，可要".
