Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle
Need to know
City select 是 2011的test , urban jungle是latest test
Strollers Updated: 26 Mar 2013
About our tests
Our latest single and double strollers tests were based on the joint Australia/New Zealand standard for prams and strollers (AS/NZS 2088:2009). Our previous single and double strollers tests have been based on an earlier version (AS/NZS 2088:2000).
The new standard is largely the same as the earlier version – it’s been updated for emerging trends in stroller design and includes new voluntary safety requirements that deal with recently identified hazards. The standard is not mandatory here; but it is in Australia.
We assessed the strollers’ safety by looking for gaps where a child’s head or limbs could be trapped and for sharp edges or points. We also checked the safety harness, the locking mechanisms that stop the stroller from folding with the child in it, the strollers’ stability and their brakes.
To test their durability we put the strollers on a “rolling road rig” for 64 hours at a speed of 5km/h. As well, each stroller was attached to a machine that continuously simulated the action of mounting a kerb.
To test ease of use we put the strollers through their paces in real life – over rough terrain, up and down stairs and through doorways. We checked how easy it was to adjust the safety harness, recline the seats, fold and unfold the stroller, apply the brakes and lock the front wheel. |
