If you are aiming to get a helpdesk related role, i will personally recommend you to go for a microsoft related excam/certification instead of CCNA. You need to work on and make sure you at least know some the following:
- basic PC hardware related stuff (how to add RAM, how to assemble your own pc from scratch, know how to add a new PCIe card into pc etc) Many covered in Comptia A+ certification
- basic networking knowledge (understand how internet work, understand DNS, email, web browsing, proxy server, subnetting, default gateway etc. Understand how to use some of the basic troubleshooting tool e.g. ping, traceroute, netstat, telnet etc). Many of these are covered in Comptia network+ and CCNA certification
- basic windows skill (understand what active directory is all about, know how to install windows, understand basic authentication, DHCP, print server, file server, permission, user profile etc). Many of these are covered in various different Microsoft certification
- basic microsoft office skill (basic MS word and Excel)
