Dogs and cats exported from New Zealand to Taiwan must comply with the import requirements of Taiwan listed in this notice as follows:

2.1 An Import Permit number is required for the exportation of dogs and cats to Taiwan.

2.2 An Official Veterinarian authorised by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry must certify, after due enquiry, the following: 6 E7 `. ?- g/ m3 d( n! W$ g1 h

2.2.1 No case of rabies has ever occurred in New Zealand. ) L9 z% C' m% ^( v6 m) k! @* w/ S3 U o

2.2.2.1 The animal(s) described in the Zoosanitary Certificate has been resident in New Zealand since birth or for at least six months immediately prior to departure $ w& `8 g/ S0 g" {' N

1. This OMAR replaces the previous one dated 21 July 2005. This OMAR has been updated to include the following:

2 N) m! Y3 b' L% l1.1 an option in clause 2 that the animal has been continually resident in New Zealand since it was imported directly from Taiwan (if the animal has been resident in New Zealand for < 6 months), and

1.2 the manufacturer and commercial name of the vaccine in clause 2.2.3.

4. Cats and dogs must only be exported if they are less than 4 weeks pregnant.

5. Animals must be microchipped. 0 }' k+ r: Y- s7 w! u

6. The animals must have been at least 90 days old when vaccinated against rabies. The animal can only be exported 30 days after the rabies vaccination but no more than 1 year after the rabies vaccination.

5 W* E0 ?7 _- {, V8 E1 p* k7 Y7. The animal must arrive with the original veterinary certificate in order to be released from quarantine upon arrival in Taiwan. 7 I* V2 t# f1 y6 [

Section 61.A of the Animal Products Amendments Act 2005 states that 'The Crown is not liable, and nor is the Director-General or any employee of the Ministry liable, for any loss arising through the refusal or failure of the relevant authority of an overseas market to admit export animal material or animal product to that market'. |
