- 1 Coverthe painted edges of the car surrounding the headlights with severallayers of masking tape; this will help prevent the sandpaper fromscratching the paint.
- 2 Sandthe headlights with 1200-grit sandpaper to remove the oxidation. Soakthe sandpaper in water every few minutes to keep it wet while sanding.Move the sandpaper left and right, not up and down or in circles. Sanduntil the headlight is dull.
- 3 Use1500-grit sandpaper and water to sand the headlights again. Keep thesandpaper moving left and right to follow and smooth the grooves madeby the 1200-grit sandpaper. Rinse the headlights and let them dry.
- 4 Wipethe headlights with plastic lens cleaner made especially forheadlights. Use a microfiber cloth to rub the cleaner into theheadlights. Wipe until the headlights are clear and bright with no dullareas.
- 5 Apply plastic UV protectant to the headlights with a microfiber cloth to seal and protect them from future oxidation.
NOT QUIET SURE IT'S PRACITAL TO DO ? I heard if you DO use sand paper to remove yellow dents from your headlight you may have 50% of chance to damage it bcause sandpaper will thinner the headlight ?
also I tried to remove them using plastic polish , but did not work
any suggestions? |
