Wondering how you could afford to insulate?

Over the next few months, Wellington City Council wants to help 90 low-income households prepare for a warmer, healthier winter.

We have funding available to top-up the insulation subsidies already available through ECCA and are particularly keen to assist seniors or families living in cold, damp houses.  The assistance on offer brings the cost of having insulation installed right down.  

The cost to the householder depends on the size of the place, but Eco Insulation, the company that does this work, is quite happy to visit and provide a free, no-obligation quote. The work is likely to cost the householder $300 to $600, maybe even less, and property owners can apply to pay the balance off through their rates.

To be considered, you must have a community services card. People renting can apply but need to check the property owner is happy for the work to be done. It’s a great opportunity for your landlord to get their property insulated cheaply…or you may want to pay for it yourself or share the costs.
