don't get me wrong, i am happy to help those out that are serious about getting into this industry. In fact in the past i have even referred a few friends into various different companies that i have worked for before. All i am trying to point out is, you get paid for what you are worth, and in IT your worthiness is dependent mostly on your experience and practical knowledge. If you are starting out in IT, you probably don't have any experience at all, then all you can do is to build up your practical skill and knowledge somehow. Certification is one way of getting there, but if your attitude is to cheat and get as many certification on your back as fast as possible just to make your CV looks good without actually learning the basic, i can tell you, you won't get far in IT at all.
Do a search on some of my previous responses in terms of what an entry level engineer should pay attention to, put effort into learning them properly, aim for the right level and start somewhere, and move your way up slowly and steadily.
BTW, a lot of so called certified people and IT graduate can't even get their foor into the door, if you are picking this field because you are wanting a 60k job as your first job, i don't think you have got the reality right. most people get that after 2 years working as a helpdesk/desktop support and move their way up, i hardly ever see anyone that start on 60k at all.
good luck and shoot if you have more to ask. |
